Are you being hurt by unfair trade imports of products that you produce entering your market at suspected dumped or subsidized prices? If you are, then this course is for you.
Learn the secrets of how to prepare a properly documented complaint that will lead to the initiation of a dumping and/or subsidy investigation by your investigation authorities.
This seminar covers the essential elements of preparing a complaint and what is considered a properly documented complaint. It covers topics such as what constitutes Canadian Industry, Verification of Standing, Major Proportion and Regional Industries.
The course concentrates on important elements of the complaint such as product definition, evidence of dumping, evidence of subsidization, evidence of injury or retardation, injury
It also provides an overview of the CBSA evaluation methodology of the complaint and the time limits for handling the complaint as well as the requirement for consultations as provided by Articles 13.1 and 1.2 of the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures.
At the end of the seminar, course participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the requirements of how to prepare a properly documented complaint leading to the successful initiation of a dumping and/or subsidy investigation.
While the requirements are specific to the Canadian Legislation, the elements of a properly documented complaint in trade remedy matters are universal and can be applied in any jurisdiction.
