PETER DUPUIS – Senior Consultant

Peter DupuisPeter Dupuis is a former Senior Investigator with the Anti-dumping and Countervailing Program (ADCVD) of the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA).

His 34-year career with the CBSA has given him the opportunity to gain extensive knowledge and considerable expertise of the Special Import Measures Act (SIMA) and Regulations, the Agreement on Subsidies and Countervailing Measures (SCM) and the Canada Customs Act and Customs Tariff Act.

Born and raised in Canada’s national capital, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, Mr. Dupuis joined the Federal government service in 1976 after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Diploma in Public Administration from Carleton University at Ottawa.

He started his career with the CBSA in 1978. In 1982, Mr. Dupuis began conducting anti-dumping and countervailing investigations. Over the next 30 years, Mr. Dupuis represented ADCVD in numerous investigations of both industrial and consumer products involving Asia, Europe and North and South America. Mr. Dupuis’ experience in China includes conducting the first subsidy investigation of China, followed by anti-dumping and other subsidy investigations over a period of eight years from 2004 to 2012. He retired from the CBSA in May 2012.

Mr. Dupuis is well respected by his peers and is often consulted whenever there are issues to be resolved. He was often called upon to mentor and train new officers. His expertise in trade matters is well recognized and respected by many of the international trade consultants and lawyers in practice today.

Mr. Dupuis has continued his post retirement career as a senior consultant with RC International Trade Consultants.
